Um dos personagens principais da série, teve sua primeira aparição no primeiro jogo Resident Evil (de 1996). Chris era um dos integrantes do time Alfa, divisão do S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service - Esquadrão de Táticas e Resgates Especiais), com o cargo de Point Man/Marksman na equipe, é também o melhor atirador de elite do grupo, possuindo vários troféus pelas suas ações em diversas missões. Chris é uma pessoa de personalidade forte e que daria a vida pela família e amigos. Suspeita-se que possuía um romance com Jill Valentine, sendo ambos protagonistas do primeiro jogos.
